Alanya Market Days: Where & When (Türkler, Konaklı & More)

One of the best things you can do on an Alanya holiday is wander a weekly market — they're where locals shop, prices are low, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Each area has its own market day (locals name them by the day, like "Salı Pazarı" for Tuesday), so wherever you're staying, there's usually one within easy reach. Here's a guide to the market days around Alanya, what to expect, and how to make the most of them.

Market days by area

As a guide to the weekly markets in and around the resort areas:

Area Typical market day
Central Alanya (Cuma Pazarı) Friday
Türkler (Eftalia area) Weekly — confirm the day locally
Avsallar Wednesday
Okurcalar Tuesday
Oba (east of centre) Monday
Tosmur (east of centre) Saturday

Markets generally run from around 9am to 6–7pm. Important: market days can change, so treat this as a guide and confirm the current day with your hotel — or just message us and we'll tell you what's on near you.

Staying near the Eftalia hotels?

If you're in Türkler, where the Eftalia hotels are based, there's a weekly market in the area — really handy for a wander without going far. As days do shift, it's worth checking the current day when you arrive (your hotel will know, or ask us). The big Friday market in central Alanya is also an easy dolmuş ride away if you fancy the largest one.

The big one: central Alanya's Friday market

The Cuma Pazarı (Friday market) in central Alanya is the largest, stretching from around the harbour into town. It's the full experience — fresh produce, spices, sweets, clothes, textiles, souvenirs and plenty of "genuine fake" stalls — and a brilliant morning out. Go earlier for the best pick and a slightly calmer browse.

What to expect at the markets

  • Fresh produce — local fruit, veg, olives, cheeses, nuts and spices, often beautifully cheap.
  • Clothes, shoes & textiles — including lots of branded look-alikes; see "genuine fakes".
  • Souvenirs — Turkish delight, tea, evil-eye charms and more; see what to buy.
  • A local atmosphere — these are real markets locals use, not just tourist traps, especially away from the resort fronts.

Tips for the markets

  • Bring cash (lira) — markets are largely cash, and lira gets the best price. See how much cash to take.
  • Haggle — expected and part of the fun; see how to haggle.
  • Go earlier — best choice and cooler temperatures.
  • Take a bag — a foldaway shopper saves you buying carriers.
  • Watch your belongings in the busy crowds — see staying safe.

Don't fancy the trip?
